FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Australian Civil and Mining Training would like to make sure you are prepared for your training.
Please read the following questions and contact ACMT with further queries.

How often do ACMT run courses?

As we run one on one training (excluding forklift, White Card and EWP over 11), our courses are booked on demand. Give us a call with some dates in mind and we will do our best to fit you in where it suit you.

How do I book a course?

Bookings can be made over the phone by ringing 08 8240 5523 or via email  at enquiries@acmt.net.au.

What is the cost of the training?

Each course is different.

When is payment required?

For most courses, full payment is required before the course date. Purchase Orders are accepted however no paperwork will be released until full payment is received.

How can payments be made?

ACMT prefers Credit Card or EFT, however we do accept cash and cheque. Please contact ACMT for other options.

How do I get a Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Number?

Check on the CITB website  to see if you are eligible and apply online.

What do I need to know before my training?

Read the Participant Handbook

You will be required to bring:

  • Appropriate work attire (Long sleeve shirt and long pants)
  • Photo ID
  • Steel Cap Boots and PPE (Hi-Vis, hard hat and glasses, if you have them)
  • Lunch or shops are close by.

All other training materials will be provided.

Do I need a Drivers Licence to undertake a course/assessment?

You do not need a drivers licence however you need to provide a form of photo ID.

Depending on the machine and where you will be operating, you may need a licence for your work tasks.

We do recommend that you have operated at least a motor vehicle before attending a course. Please contact us if you have never operated a vehicle before.

How much experience do you need to undertake an assessment only course?

You need to have around 100 hours of experience (this is about 2 weeks worth of 8 hour days). You will need experience with the full operations of the machine. eg, if you operate an excavator with a grab only, you still need experience with a bucket.

You will need to fill in a declaration of experience before the assessment.

Is ACMT a Registered Training Organisation?

Yes. RTO – 40396

Most of our courses are Nationally recognised but please check with ACMT staff before enrolment.

I have lost/damaged my ticket. Can I get it replaced?

Yes. There is a cost involved in replacing your ticket.
